Arsenal vs Southampton, what it showed us

A trip to Southampton is never a nice one. They are defensively sound, well-organised, and hard-organised. They tackle soundly, they track runs, they hound and harass their opposition in the midfield areas. They are, simply, a horrible team to play against, especially away from home.

That they displayed today, resilience till the last minute. Thanks to Giroud for the late equaliser, who once again came on to show to the world that he is still one of the best at what he does.
This drawn match furthermore points to the fact that Arsenal is in dire need of a strong defence and also Vibrant midfielders.

After their early goal, Southampton 'parked the bus' making it hard for the Arsenal team with a possessive style of play to infiltrate the box. Arsenal had their share of fine moments but none was really impressive. Arsenal performance today could be rated as below par because for a team of such class they displayed little or no quality. It's possible it was as a result of the 'ARSENAL END OF THE YEAR PHENOMENON' or the small teams newly innovated 'Score and park the bus'. If it's the later then it calls on all epl big teams to watch out.

John McCain has brain cancer, his office says.

Veteran US Republican Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer and is reviewing treatment options, according to his office. The options may include chemotherapy and radiation, his doctors said. The 80-year-old politician is in "good spirits" recovering at home. The tumour was discovered during a surgery to remove a blood clot from above his left eye last week. A Vietnam veteran, Mr McCain spent more than five years as a prisoner of war. The six-term senator and 2008 Republican presidential candidate underwent surgery at a clinic in Phoenix, in the state of Arizona, last Friday. Tissue analysis revealed that a primary brain tumour known as glioblastoma was associated with the clot, a statement from the Mayo Clinic said. "The senator's doctors say he is recovering from his surgery 'amazingly well' and his underlying health is excellent," it added.
